Medieval Times Study Unit: Catapult

Since I only go to school part time I do the rest of my work here at home or in the community. Right now we are doing a Medieval Times Study Unit with lots of hands on activities that I like. The first thing I made was a catapult, a giant medieval slingshot. Here are pictures of what I built.

A catapult was used in medieval times for shooting dead humans, dead animals, and beehives over castle walls to infect and attack the castle. Did you know that the catapults were invented by the Greeks? The Greeks flung pots of mysterious fire with their catapults.

  1. Wow. You're learning stuff that I never learned in school. Very interesting. Thanks for the info.

  2. Mysterious fire sounds intriguing... What made it so mysterious?

When I come visit next time, am I going to see a life size one of these in the backyard?
